Teratic Cohort Background Tables

Source: Briar and Bone (out of print)

Many of the unfortunates drafted into the Teratic Cohorts retain the names they held previously, despite losing their original forms. However, not all of these Ossiarch are permitted such a privilege.

Those that have most deeply displeased Nagash and have been recreated as Teratic Prowlers are given a numeric designation in place of a name, signalling the demotion from humanoid to beast. Only by being readmitted to their legion — often a rarity, given the Great Necromancer’s cruelty — can they regain the use of their name. Other Teratic warriors have been known to willingly swap their name for a designation in penance.
