Chaos Legionnaires Background Tables

Source: White Dwarf #481 (out of print)

Chaos Legionnaires hail from all across the Mortal Realms, their former allegiances cast aside upon swearing loyalty to the Dark Master. These agents of the First Prince operate in the shadows, undermining Archaon’s forces in preparation for all out war.

Be’lakor is a creature of lies and misdirection, and he favours similar qualities in his acolytes. Those who swear themselves to his cult often abandon their original names, assuming new identities as they move across the realms and amongst the Everchosen’s hordes. When encountering others of the legion, these warriors take names laden with double meaning, though it is often far from obvious to those outside Be’lakor’s cult.

Chaos Legionnaires Origins

D6Origin
1Marshal’s Own: These Legionnaires are the semi-trusted right hands of a powerful Centaurion Marshal, tasked with missions of great import to the cause.
2The Master’s Hands: These warriors serve Be’lakor as secretive assassins, bringing unforeseen death to the servants of the Everchosen.
3Secret Keepers: These warriors have learned a truth so valuable that, until they have delivered it unto their manipulative master, they shall not utter a word.
4Veteran Cohort: Even before Be’lakor returned to prominence through his creation of the cursed skies, these warriors served his will.
5Emissaries of Evil: These silver-tongued warriors are often chosen to bring Be’lakor’s word to shadowy allies across the realms.
6Unwilling Converts: Rather than join the legion by choice, these warriors were forced to kneel before icons of Be’lakor, their minds blasted by his power.

Chaos Legionnaires Leader Background

D6Background
1Conduit of the Creed: In this champion’s eyes blaze the fires of a true fanatic, and their every word drips with zealous devotion to the Dark Master.
2Scarred by Failure: After enduring the torments of Mordikar for some past error, this Decuriarch has been given a second chance – though should they disappoint again, the consequences will be even more dire.
3Satrap of Whispers: A competent spymaster, this warrior has assembled a network of hidden agents to guide their cohort’s efforts.
4Infernal Vessel: This warrior’s soul has been joined to that of a daemonic agent of Be’lakor. Though the entity appears too weak to assume full control, it occasionally makes hissing commands.
5Stolen Soul: Once, this Decuriarch venerated one of the Ruinous Powers above all. Now, however, they belong to Be’lakor utterly.
6Wheels within Wheels: Unbeknownst to the rest of the cohort, this champion has their own secretive task, and they will sacrifice any of their followers to achieve it.
