Gloomspite Gitz can be found nestling in the shadows across the Mortal Realms. From the depths of Ulgu to the mountains of Aqshy, they spread their gloam through caves and tunnels until the light of the Bad Moon reignites their combat frenzy and lures them up to the surface.
Although many grots are cowardly creatures, they find strength in numbers – and in the hideous subterranean creatures they ally themselves with. Their accent is reminiscent of their greenskin cousins, but their nasal, reedy voices chirp with a higher-pitched irritation that is reflected in their sharp, simple names. Most grots travel en masse in tribal groups and work to draw the attention of their lunar deity by causing violent mischief wherever they go. |
Cruel, cunning and treacherous, the Gloomspite Gitz infest the dank places of the Mortal Realms like a mouldering fungus. Though anarchic creatures by their very nature, when they unite under a common cause they are capable of wholescale destruction.
There are few regions of the realms untroubled by grots. Despite their diminutive size and natural cowardice, these greenskins are remarkably adaptable, somehow managing to thrive in the most hostile conditions. Those scattered tribes that dwell within the Eightpoints are particularly resilient. Chaos warlords irritated by the creatures' scavenging and pillaging often launch purges in an attempt to wipe them out, but should even a few grots manage to flee from the slaughter, their numbers soon begin to swell once more.
