Picking Your Poison

On your travels across the Bloodwind Spoil, you've caught wind of a monstrous eight-legged horror preying on warbands and slave caravans. This beast strikes from nowhere, overwhelming hastily erected defences before disappearing just as swiftly. As a veteran hunter of monsters yourself, you have a suspicion as to the culprit's identity: a Skitterstrand Arachnarok, a deadly ambush predator that can tear holes in the skin of reality itself.

Though common sense suggests that hunting such a beast would be the height of madness, you decide to give it a go anyway. After all, many of the Chaos boyz here have some kind of godly blessing, which is basically cheating, and the potent venom of a Skitterstrand would even the odds. Reaching the site of the monster's last attack, you start searching around for any clues as to its location. All the while, eight malevolent eyes watch you from the gloom...

The Challenger Warband

The Challenger musters a warband with the following amendments:

  1. The Challenger must muster a Destruction warband, and all fighters in the Challenger warband must be chosen from the Challenger's warband roster.
  2. The combined points value of the fighters in the Challenger warband cannot exceed 3 times the points value of the adversary in the Adversary warband.

Special Rules

Battle Groups: The Challenger warband must be split into battle groups as normal. The adversary is not placed in a battle group.

Deployment: The Challenger sets up all their battle groups first. The Adversary then picks 1 of their deployment points and sets up the adversary as normal.

Where Did It Go?: Once per battle, the Skitterstrand Arachnarok can use this ability as an action if it is more than 3" from any enemy fighters. If it does so, remove the Skitterstrand Arachnarok from the battlefield; it is now in reserve. In the reserve phase of the next battle round, it can be set up again anywhere on the battlefield more than 5" from any enemy fighters.

Battleplan
